Mohammedan Sporting, one of the oldest Football Club in the country, has decided not to participate in any National football tournament in the current season due to financial crisis.The Club President Mr. Sultan Ahmed told AIR that the decision was taken at the working committee meeting held in Kolkata last Saturday.Mr. Ahmed said that as per the decision club will not participate in the Durand Cup tournament beginning next Tuesday.He also criticized the AIFF for pulling down the Mohammedan Sporting in the second division of I-League for failing to fulfill licensing criteria.According to Club sources other Sporting activities of the Club as Cricket, Athletics however will continue.The Mohammedan Club, founded in the year 1891, is suffering acute financial crisis since last two years for lack of Sponsorship in its football activities.
