In Uttar Pradesh a senior minister of Akhilesh Yadav government Mohammad Azam Khan has offered to resign from the the cabinet. He has also expressed his desire to relinquish in-chargeship of different districts to review developmental activities for the concerned districts.AIR correspondent reports that the development follows removal of Mr Khan as in charge of Meerut district. In his letter to the chief minister Mr Khan has expressed his strong displeasure over his removal. He has said that if he is not capable to discharge his responsibilities as in charge of Meerut district then he should be relieved from cabinet responsibilities as well.The government has assigned Panchayati Raj Development minister Balram Singh Yadav to look after Meerut affairs and Mr Khan has been given Pilibhit district in place of Meerut in addition to the responsibilities of two more districts. Mr Khan was not available for his comments.
