They lost two quick wickets in their first innings, one claimed by Ravichandran Ashwin and the other by Ravindra Jadeja. Earlier, electing to bat, India were all out for 201 in their first innings. Murali Vijay who scored 75 off 136 balls was the top scorer for the hosts. As many as 3 Indian batsmen, Shikhar Dhawan, W.P.Saha and V.R.Aaron failed to score.
