Mohali Test: India to resume at 283 for no loss this morning

Hosts India will resume their first innings at the overnight score of 283 for no loss against Australia today, on Day 4 of the rain-affected third cricket test at Mohali. When stumps were drawn yesterday, Shikhar Dhawan, who created a record of the fastest century off 85 balls on a Test debut, was going strong on 185 and fellow opener Murali Vijay on 83 were at the crease. India still trail by 125 runs in the first innings, as Australia had made 408, after opting to bat first. Yesterday, after resuming the day at the overnight score of 273 for 7, the Aussies were bundled out for 408. Ishant Sharma and Ravinder Jadeja bagged three wickets apiece, while R. Ashwin and Pragyan Ojha took two wickets each. In reply, both Dhawan and Vijay recorded the highest first wicket partnership for India against Australia, as the home side scored a brilliant 283 at the close of play. India is currently leading the 4-match series, 2-0. They had defeated the Aussies by 8 wickets in the first test at Chennai, before registering a superb, an innings and 135 runs victory in the second test at Hyderabad.
