Mohali Test, Day 2: India 125/2 in their second innings at stumps

India were 125 for two in their second innings at stumps on the second day of the first cricket Test against South Africa in Mohali today. A five-wicket haul by Ravichandran Ashwin gave India a crucial 17-run first innings lead . Thereafter Indian batsmen consolidated the position with a much-improved display in the second innings as they were 125 for two at stumps with Cheteshwar Pujara on 63 and Virat Kohli on 11 at the crease. The hosts have stretched the lead to 142 runs. It was the second-wicket pair of Murali Vijay 47 runs and Pujara, which played sensible cricket with a 86-run stand after Shikhar Dhawan lost his wicket second time in a row without opening his account. Earlier this morning South Africa resumed their innings at 28 for 2 and were bowled out for 184 runs in their first innings. For South Africa, A B de Villiers was the main scorer with 63 runs. Hashim Amla made 43 runs and Elgar, 37. For India R. Ashwin claimed 5 wickets, followed by Jadeja who took 3 and Amit Mishra two wickets.
