Mohali Court convicts Punjab Agri Min for corruption

Punjab Agriculture Minister Tota Singh has been convicted for corruption by a Mohali Court. Sessions Judge Rajinder Aggarwal sentenced Tota Singh to one year imprisonment and imposed a fine of 30 thousand rupees on him in the 10 year old case.

The court said the minister had misused the official machinery from 1997 to 2002 during his tenure as State Education Minister. The Case was registered by state Vigilance Bureau on June 14, 2002.

Tota Singh was released on bail after the judgment. He was elected as MLA from Dharmkot constituency on SAD ticket in recent assembly polls and was givenAgriculture portfolio in the state cabinet.
