In Gujarat, a day long fast in Godhra by Chief Minister Narendra Modi passed off peacefully. It was a part of his on going 'Sadbhavana' mission launched from Ahmedabad last September. Senior congress leader Mr.Shankarsinh Waghela also observed parallel fast in Godhra-with the party supporters and termed Chief Minister Modi’s fast as political stunt to woo the minority community.Social activist Shabnam Hashmi and five others were arrested on the outskirts of Godhra while trying to hold protest against Narendra Modi. Former Gujarat Minister Mr.Nalin Bhatt was also arrested with his supporters while protesting Narendra Modi’s fast.AIR Ahmedabad Correspondent reports, that Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s fast was observed under tight security arrangements as Godhra was the nerve centre of the 2002 riots.
