The modified Tatkal scheme for booking of train tickets will come into effect from tomorrow.

Under the new scheme announced by Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi last week, reservation period has been reduced to one day from the earlier two days.

The scheme also restricts the agents from booking the ticket under the tatkal quota from 8am to 10 am. Tatkal tickets will now only be issued on production of identity proof at the counter.
