Modi targets EC again ; Accuses it of being biased and partisan

Bharatiya Janata Party leader Narendra Modi continued his allegations against the Election Commission. Modi yesterday again accused the Commission of being biased and partisan. Addressing a rally in Rohaniya an the outskirts of Varanasi, he said the Commission is working under pressure but did not elaborate. He said the Commission should introspect.

He also took out a roadshow in Varanasi defying prohibitory orders. Capping an acrimonious day, Modi landed at the Banaras Hindu University campus helipad, near the venue of the party protests and held an undeclared 5 kilometer roadshow to the main BJP election office in Sigra, where a large number of police and Rapid Action Force personnel were deployed. Earlier, the BJP yesterday staged protests in both Varanasi and Delhi against denial of permission for Modi's rally in the busy Benia Bagh area in the temple city.
