Modi swearing-in ceremony: Rajapaksa, Ram Goolam arrive in New Delhi

Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa and Mauritius Prime Minister Navin Ram Goolam arrived in New Delhi this morning to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister designate Narendra Modi.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai, Maldivian President Abdulla Yameen, Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Nepal Prime Minister Sushil Koirala will arrive later in the day.

Bhutan Prime Minister Lyonchen Tshering Tobgay and Bangladesh Parliament Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury had arrived yesterday.

AIR Correspondent reports that President Mukherjee will host a private dinner in honour of the foreign leaders after the oath-taking ceremony.

Tomorrow, the new Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold bilateral talks with SAARC leaders and Mauritius Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam.
