The BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi met senior party leader L K Advani in New Delhi this morning, who is upset over being fielded from Gandhinagar Lok Sabha seat in Gujarat against his wishes.
The BJP Central Election Committee after a marathon meeting yesterday decided to field Mr. Advani from Gandhinagar against his desire to shift to Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh.
Senior BJP laders Sushma Swaraj and Nitin Gadkari had met Advani at his residence last night in their bid to persuade the BJP veteran. Both leaders later met BJP president Rajnath Singh and conveyed Mr. Advani's unhappiness over the Central Election Committee's decision.
Agency reports quoting sources say that RSS leader Suresh Soni was also present during this meeting.
Mr. Narendra Modi also met RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat soon after the CEC meeting last night over the developments. Mr. Advani did not attend yesterday's meeting of the Party's Central Election Committee.
BJP leader Sushma Swaraj again met Mr. Advani at his residence this morning. This was her second meeting with Mr. Advani after she met him last night soon after the Central Election Committee meeting.
