Union Minister of Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya today said Narendra Modi led government is a scam and corruption free government which delivers best services to people. <br/><br/>Addressing a seminar in New Delhi on the achievements of the Labour and Employment Ministry in last three years, Mr Dattatreya said, the government has shown the country unprecedented development and it has established prestige of India in international arena. He said, country's GDP has reached 7.5 per cent and in coming days implementation of Goods and Service Tax will bring more development in the country.<br/><br/>Highlighting the achievements of his ministry, Mr Dattatreya said, the Labour Ministry is one of the top performing ministries of the current government. It has completed the task of amalgamating various wage related laws and merging process of the 40 of these legislations is in final stage. <br/><br/>The Minister said, under NDA government, the minimum wage has been increased by 42 per cent for agricultural and non-agricultural workers and the Minimum Wage Act has been amended for the benefit of the workforce. <br/><br/>The government has also amended Child Labour Regulation Act prohibiting children under 14 year age from working anywhere thus ensuring education for them. During the occasion the Labour and Employment Secretary M. Sathiyavathy and Joint Secretary Rajiv Arora gave presentation on the achievements of the ministry. <br/><br/>Earlier, Minister Dattatreya visited an exhibition and a health camp organized by the ministry in the seminar premises. He also inaugurated an X-ray and physiotherapy centre, a centre of excellence of ophthalmology and an EPFO office in New Delhi through video conferencing. <br/><br/>The minister presented awards to the model employers in various sectors and also to the officials of his ministry for their hard work in implementing government's vision on labour sector.
