Prime Minister Narendra Modi today flagged off the 'Run for Unity' from Dhyan Chand stadium at India Gate on the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. <br/><br/>He also administered pledge for national integration and unity to hundreds of participants. Mr Modi also released a commemorative postage stamp on the Iron Man. <br/><br/>Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said nation must never forget Sardar Patel and his mantra for country's unity. He said every citizen dreams of a strong and self reliant nation which can be materialised by taking lessons from the life of Sardar Patel. He said Patel stood behind Mahatma Gandhi during freedom struggle.<br/><br/>Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu recalled the contribution of Sardar Patel towards nation building. Home Minister Rajnath Singh was also present on the occasion.
