Congress has charged BJP leader Narendra Modi with deliberately misinterpreting facts over the remarks of Priyanka Gandhi. Party leader Kapil Sibal told reporters in New Delhi today that Priyanka Gandhi had only said that Modi had insulted his father on Amethi's soil and accused him of practicing 'low level politics.

But, he said Modi deliberately misinterpreted the facts saying Priyanka Gandhi insulted him with the low-level politics remarks as he belonged to a backward caste. Sibal said Modi knows that he is misinterpreting and he does it purposefully. That is Narendra Modi, he said. Sibal said Modi will give it a spin that has nothing to do with fact.

BJP has demanded an apology from Priyanka Gandhi for the remarks. Party spokesman Shanawaz Hussain said in New Delhi that Priyanka's staement shows frustration of Congress.
