Modi begins roadshow in Varanasi ahead of filing nomination papers

BJP leader Narendra Modi has started his road show at Varanasi before filing his nomination papers for Varanasi Lok Sabha seat. He is more than two hours late behind his scheduled programme.

AIR Correspondent reports that after garlanding the statue of Madan Mohan Malviya founder of BHU Modi started his road show from Kashi Vidya Peeth gate.

He is accompanied by senior party leaders Amit Shah, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, President of Party`s state unit Laxmi Shankar Vajpayee and Apana Dal leader Anupriya Patel in an open truck.

He has garlanded Sardar Ballabh Bhai Patel statue at Maldhaiya crossing. Six points has been identified in his route to District Election Office to welcome the BJP leader.

Five tier elaborate security arrangements are in place in and around at District Election Office.A total of ten persons including Modi and senior party leaders will be allowed to go to the District Election Office for his nomination.

However, only five persons including the candidate will be allowed inside the office of Returning Officer.

Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad has said four persons including a retired justice from Allahabad High Court justice Giridhar Malviya, noted classical singer Pandit Chhannu lal Misra, and two persons one each from weaver and sailor communities has been identified as Modi`s proposers for his nominations.

Our correspondent reports that several local education institutions have decided to remain closed. AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal had filed his papers yesterday after conducting an impressive road show.
