Modi accuses Sonia of resorting to communalism

BJP leader Narendra Modi has accused Congress President Sonia Gandhi of resorting to communalism by appealing to Muslim leaders to ensure their votes are not split. Addressing a meeting at Ghaziabad today he has sought Election Commission's action on the issue.

Yesterday, Sonia rejected the BJP charge that she is playing politics of communalism saying they are not in the habit and game of polarising elections.

Agency reports say, Modi avoided Noida apparently because of the popular belief that leaders who visit the town lose their positions. Instead, he used the same platform Ghaziabad to seek votes for his party's candidate from neighbouring Gautam Budh Nagar.
