Modi accuses Congress of pursuing vote-bank politics

The Gujarat Chief Minister and the BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate, Narendra Modi has accused the Congress of pursuing vote-bank politics in the country.

Addressing a party rally in Sujanpur in Himachal Pradesh today, Modi said that the turmoil over the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh is a perfect example of how the ruling party sowed what he termed, “seeds of poison”.

Noting that the creation of three new states under the NDA regime had been a smooth affair, Modi said that there was no strife when BJP bifurcated Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. He accused Congress of being a dynastic party and said dynastic politics is the enemy of democracy.

He also slammed the UPA government over the issue of inflation and said that although Congress had promised to combat price rise within 100 days, it had not been able to deal with the problem.
