The government on Wednesday said that the modern aircrafts will soon replace the MiG which is to be phased out by 2017. Defence Minister A. K. Antony said while replying supplementaries in the Rajya Sabha that Light Combat Aircraft, LCA is being soon inducted. 126 Medium Multi-role Combat Aircraft are also proposed to be inducted by 2020. The minister said Indian Air Force is now making large acquisitions. He however rejected the charge that any bad quality parts of MiG being supplied to India after disintegration of the Soviet Union. He however acknowledged that there was a delay in their supply as after the break up of Soviet Union. The Minister said that the supply of spare parts has now started improving.
