Moderate to Heavy polling is reported in the sixth phase of polling to 117 Lok Sabha constituencies across 11 states and the Union Territory of Puducherry.

Polling has been by and large peaceful barring a few stray incidents of violence with one policeman killed in Assam and 13 others injured in other states.

Election Commission figures show that West Bengal recorded 82 percent polling for 6 Lok Sabha seats, Uttar Pradesh 58 percent for 12 seats, Madhya Pradesh recorded 64 percent turnout for 10 seats and Tamil Nadu 73 percent for all its 39 seats.

Polling was 59 percent in Rajasthan for 5 seats, 55 percent for 19 seats in Maharashtra, 62 percent for 7 seats in Chhattisgarh , 60 percent for 7 seats in Bihar, 63 percent for 4 seats in Jharkhand and 77 percent for 6 seats in Assam.
