Moderate to heavy voting is reported in the third phase of polling in 91 Lok Sabha constituencies and 70 Assembly segments in Odisha today. All the constituencies in Kerala, Haryana and Delhi and six Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, four in Jharkhand, nine in Madhya Pradesh, ten each in Maharashtra, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh and one each in Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh and Lakshadweep went to the polls today.
Briefing reporters in New Delh today, election Commission officials said Kerela reported the highest poling of 73.4 per cent polling, while Uttar Pradesh registered 65 per cent. It was 67 percent for Odisha and 55.98 per cent for Madhya Pradesh. Haryana polled around 65 per cent, Bihar 55,Jharkhand 58, Chandigargh 74, Andaman Nocbar 67, Jammu 66.29 percent, Maharashtra 54.13 percent and Chhatisgarh witnessed 51.49 per cent. Delhi recorded 64 per cent polling.
The officials said that polling by and large polling was peaceful barring a stray incedent in Bihar where in Jamui two CRPF personnel lost their lives and seven others injured in an IED blast and in an ambush by Maoist.
