Moderate to heavy turnout of voters is being reported, as polling is coming to an end now, in the 8th and penultimate phase of elections covering 64 Lok Sabha constituencies spread over 7 states.
In West Bengal over 75 percent polling was recorded in six Parliamentary seats till 5 P.M today. The polling percentage was around 79 percent in six left wing extremism affected Assembly segments where voting ended at 4 this afternoon.
In the Seemandhra region of Andhra Pradesh, barring stray incidents, over 63 per cent of voters cast their vote by 3 PM. People in Seemandhra voted for 25 Lok Sabha seats and for 175 assembly seats.
In Uttar Pradesh, above 51 percent voting is reported till 5 PM in all15 Lok Sabha seats where peaceful voting is underway since 7.00 AM.
In Bihar, about over 53 percent voting has been reported in Seven Lok Sabha seats till 5 PM.
In Himachal Pradesh, nearly 62 percent polling has been reported till 5 P M in the four Parliamentary Constituencies of the state where voting started at 7.00 in the morning amid tight security.
In Uttarakhand, 35 percent voting was recorded for the five parliamentary constituencies.
In Jammu and Kashmir, an over all 14 percent polling has been recorded in first four hours in today's polling in two constituencies of Baramula and Ladakh.
