A moderate earthquake with an intensity of 6.2 on the Richter Scale rattled upper parts of Pakistan, including the capital Islamabad early this morning. Pak met office said the epicenter of the quake was somewhere in Afghanistan beneath Hindu Kush mountainous region. Panicky people came out of their homes. No loss of life or property has been reported so far. The affected areas included upper and lower Dir, Swat, Bunir, Hangu, Malakand, Shangla, Nowshera, Mansehra, Balakot, Attock, Peshawar and Momhand Agency.The Kashmir valley was also hit by a moderate earthquake measuring 5.7 on the Richter scale in the wee hours today. But there was no report of any loss of life or damage to property.Official sources said, the quake had its epicenter located in the Hindukush mountain range of Afghanistan.
