Moderate 5.4-magnitude earthquake strikes Japan

A moderate 5.4-magnitude earthquake struck near the west coast of Japan today. The US Geological Survey said the epicenter was 50 kilometers east of Fukui, Honshu. There were no immediate reports of damage and there was no tsunami warning in place.
