In Kashmir, a mob today set on fire apolice barrack and a vehicle of the police department outside the Harzratbal Shrine on the banks of the Dal lake in Srinagar following which security forces opened fire. Official sources reports, the incident occured soon after Eid-ul-Fitr prayers. Police opened fire to disperse the mob and prevent any further damage to public property. There were no reports of anyone getting injured in the incident. In a related development large number of people who offered Idd prayers at Iddgaha in Srinagar marched towards Lalchowk.The procession was lead by moderate huriat leader Mirwaiz UMer Farooq. Our correspondent reports,the sudden development has come as a challenge for the authorities as they used to thawart any such marches in the recent months by imposing curfew.
