MNS chief asks SBI to give preference to Maharashtrians in its recruitment

A group of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) activists led by MLA Bala Nandgaonkar submitted a letter yesterday to the State Bank of India (SBI) recruitment cell in Mumbai, urging it to give preference to locals. <br/> <br/>SBI is holding an entrance exam in the city and across Maharashtra on Sunday and the administration has assured the MNS to speak to the authorities in Delhi regarding their demand. The MNS activists argued that if there was a state quota of 1100 vacancies, all of it should be allotted to locals.<br/> <br/>Meanwhile, the Police are on alert following the threat. A state police officer said strong security will be provided outside the exam centres and those who indulge in violence will be dealt with firmly.<br/>
