In Chennai, the DMK working president MK Stalin met the Tamil Nadu interim governor Vidyasagar Rao at Raj Bhavan this evening and urged him to convene the state Assembly for a floor test. He made the demand saying, the AIADMK's Edappadi K Palaniswamy government has lost its majority. Mr Stalin claimed in his representation to the Governor that only 114 MLAs are supporting the government, against the existing strength of 233 MLAs in the Assembly. <br/><br/>He said 119 other MLAs including the 21 loyalists of the AIADMK's sidelined leader TTV Dhinakaran have expressed their loss of trust on the Palaniswamy-led administration. The DMK's alliance partners Congress and IUML also gave letters to the Governor making the same demand. The combined opposition has the strength of 98 MLAs including 89 of the DMK.<br/><br/>Mr Stalin told journalists after his meeting with the Governor that he had stressed his demand to the Governor to convene the Assembly for the floor test within a week. He remarked that he would approach the judiciary and the people's court if the demand is not met. This is the second time the DMK has handed over representation to the Governor along with its coalition partners Congress and IUML, the first time being on the 27th of last month.
