Defending champions Government Chawngfianga Middle School, Mizoram has entered the semi-finals of the Under-14 category of the Subroto Cup Inter-School Football Tournament. In New Delhi yesterday, they thrashed Birjhora Higher Secondary School, Assam 5-0. Joining the Mizoram team in fray were the Greenwood High School boys from Nagaland and the two will now meet in the first semifinal, to be played tomorrow. The Nagaland high school, defeated NCC, Maharashtra in extra time by a 3-1 verdict.Earlier, in a Pool E match, Nilamani English School from Manipur thumped Air Force School Delhi 9-0. The Delhi school boys could not match the speed and guile of the Manipuri boys and surrendered meekly.
