Mizoram state education dept. begins distribution of free text books under SSA to primary & middle school students

<span style="color: #222222;">In Mizoram, despite schools remaining closed as a part of containment measures of COVID-19, the state education department has begun distribution of free text books under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan in all districts to benefit the primary & middle school students.<br />''<br />''Officials from the state education department said that necessary initiatives have already been taken up in Siaha, Champhai, Serchhip and Kolasib districts to distribute free textbooks to the students.  They said, other districts will begin the process very shortly.<br />''<br />''Dy Commissioner of Lawngthlai district Dr. Andrew Vanlaldika said the initiative of free distribution of the scholastic books has begun to send these books in four blocks of 19 cluster resource centres. He said the administration has arranged vehicles for transporting books to all clusters and villages.<br />''<br />''These textbooks are for students from class 1 to 8 for the current academic session. Under the program, students of primary level will be given books worth 250 rupees and 400 rupees for the middle school level.</span><br />
