In Mizoram, more than 71 percent of farmers of about 60,000 so far received income assistance of Rs. 13 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) during covid-19 lockdown.<br />'' <br />'' According to the state agriculture department, a total of 92,201 farmers have been approved in compliance with the guidelines of the scheme. Amongst them, 66,108 farmers have been provided with Rs. 2000 per family during 24th March and 10th April. Under the PM-Kisan scheme, farmers are given Rs. 2000 through direct benefit transfer system.<br />'' <br />'' The Nodal officer of PM-Kisan in Agriculture department Pradip Chhetri said that 1,10,000 farmers of the state have been were registered under the scheme and of them, 92,201 farmers are eligible to get funds. Many of the registered farmers have been disapproved of getting the benefit due to insufficient information on Voter ID, Aadhar and bank account. He said the registration process, however, is being undertaken by 260 BDOs and Common Service Centres (CSC).<br />'' <br />'' He said the assistance is currently given in accordance with the order of the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare to provide the farmers with the income support of Rs 2000 during the national lockdown.
