<span style="color: #222222;">In Mizoram, in a triangular fight in the election to the lone Rajya Sabha seat the ruling Mizo National Front (MNF) candidate K Vanlalvena has been declared elected.  Mr Vanlalvena secured 27 votes.  Assembly commissioner and secretary H Lalrinawma, who is also the returning officer for Rajya Sabha polls, declared the result this evening.  </span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">According to the election official, MNF candidate has defeated his nearest candidate B. Lalchhanzova of Zoram Peoples Movement (ZPM) who has secured seven votes, while the Congress candidate Dr. Lallianchhunga secured five votes.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">In the 40-seated state assembly, the ruling MNF has 27 members, while ZPM has 7 and Congress has 5 members and BJP one. Today, 39 MLAs cast their votes for the lone Rajya Sabha election. BJP MLA Buddha Dhan Chakma did not cast his vote.</span><br />''
