Mizoram government is looking for more quarantine centres as the number of stranded people returning to the state is expected to reach its peak by next week, said, Secretary of Education department Esthar Lal Ruatkimi, who is also the Chairperson of the task group on quarantine facilities.<br />''<br />''She said that 500 quarantine facilities are now arranged for 14,358 people. Out of these, 168 churches have provided halls for quarantine facilities.Apart from providing shelters, some churches are also giving food to the quarantined people.<br />'' <br />''Officials said, so far, the Presbyterian Church, Baptist Church, Salvation Army, Lairam Isua Krista Baptist Kohhran, Evangelical Church of Maraland and United Penticostal Church have spared their halls for quarantine facility.<br />'' <br />''Mrs Lal Ruatkimi said that the government is overwhelmed by the dedication shown by the churches and the local level task force. However, she said, more facilities are required with a total capacity of about 20,000 people. <br />'' <br />''Two days back, the state government has reviewed the status of quarantine facilities as about 20,000 stranded people are expected to return to the state in next few days from other parts of the country. <br />'' <br />''Officials said, the meeting, chaired by the Chief Secretary Lalnunmawia Chuaungo decided to allow home quarantine for a section of returnees to ease the burden of designated quarantine centres, with the mandatory condition that the incoming people will have to comply with the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of COVID19. Also, the state government has decided to look for community centres as with the instances of churches to be taken as quarantine facilities.<br />
