In Mizoram, the State government has planned to set up five sports schools in different parts of the State. State Sports Minister Robert Romawia Royte said this while addressing a meeting of the State Sports Council at Aizawl yesterday.<br />'' <br />''He said that the central government has released the first instalment of funds for the purpose. All official procedures for setting up of the five sports schools in the State and a district sports complex at Mamit town have been completed and constructions will start soon.<br />'' <br />''He said that COVID-19 pandemic has badly affected the sports activities, however, the State government has taken up plans to upgrade the sports infrastructures. He has lauded the Central Government for including Aizawl Sports Academy at Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex for setting up of Khelo India State Centre of Excellence (KISCE). Mr Royte said that the State has already taken initiatives to materialise the project.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">He further said that the State government is planning to set up sports infrastructure through Externally Aided Projects (EAP). He added that the State has already given industry status to sports and that it will help develop sports infrastructure in Mizoram.</span><br />
