The Governor of Mizoram P.S. Sreedharan has declared he will donate 30% of his gross monthly salary amounting to Rs 1,05,000 to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for a period of 6 months in the fight against COVID19 pandemic. Earlier, all legislators of the 40-seated legislative assembly decided to donate 30 % of their basic salary from May to next December to the state exchequer to fight against COVID 19 pandemic. Along with this, the Governor's secretariat has also adopted separate austerity measures for Raj Bhavan. In a circular it said that no capital works will be taken up in Raj Bhavan in the current financial year. Restrictions have been imposed on purchase of office furniture, computers and other electronic items except most essential cases. Restrictions have also been imposed on bulk purchase of office stationery. Also, the circular ordered that only a minimum level of the repair and maintenance work will be allowed at Raj Bhavan.</span><br />
