Mizoram girl from stark poverty ranks 8th in board exam

In Mizoram, a daughter of a daily labourer family Vanlalvenhimi Lalfakliana has shown the way of achieving in study having conquered scores of challenges out of poverty, which came manifold amid the pandemic of Coronavirus. Miss Vanlalvenhimi from Durtlang Higher Secondary School secured 8th position in Arts group in the Class 12 board examination. <br />''<br />''She scored 437 out of 500 marks with letter marks in all five subjects. The results of the Higher Secondary School Examination under Mizoram Board of School Education was declared recently.<br />'' <br />'' Talking to AIR News, her mother Lalsangzuali said, Vanlalvenhimi is the oldest among her siblings, so she has to look after her siblings when the parents go out for work.<br />'' <br />'' Sharing her thoughts, Ms Vanlalvenhimi said that her parents and school teachers had the full support behind her result. She said, due to the high charges of tuition fees she is now yet to decide on any particular college for admission in BA. <br />''<br />''She further said she is aspiring to pursue an academic career and become a professor in the University and Political Science is her favourite subject. <br />
