Mizoram Celebrates Christmas with Religious Solemnity and Community Traditions

<span style="color: #222222;">In Mizoram, Christmas is being celebrated with religious fervor and solemnity. The day was marked by mass, biblical sermon, singing of gospel hymns, presentation of Christmas choir and special items from youth and children. Praising the Lord together – Lengkhawm – is an unique tradition of the Mizo people that marked the significance of the Christmas celebration. Community feast – ruai – will take place tomorrow in all Churches across the state. All shops have been shut and the roads look empty as public transportation came to a grinding halt. Christmas is one such occasion where all the people are engaged in Church activities.
