<span style="color: #222222;">In Mizoram, to give a fillip to the efforts toward achieving self-sufficiency in food grain production, the state agriculture department has taken up multiple measures amid COVID-19 pandemic. The agriculture and horticulture departments are helping farmers across the state by providing them with high yielding varieties of seeds, farm machineries and tools. As part of this initiative, Agriculture Minister C. Lalrinsanga distributed 18 tractors to the farmers in Champhai district yesterday under Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization (SMAM).</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">  </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">After flagging off the distribution of tractors, Agriculture Minister C. Lalrinsanga lauded the efforts parallelly being taken up by the farmers. The Minister said that he is extremely happy to see that people are working towards self-sufficiency during the current situation of Covid-19 pandemic.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">  </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">He further said the State government will purchase 50 Trailer, Rotavator and Paddy Reaper, 75 Power Tiller and 75 Mini Power Tiller and will distribute to the farmers, which will play a big role to help the state achieving self-sufficiency in food production. The farmers who received tractors belong to different societies -Tuipui Zau, Tlangsam; Chhimluang WRC Farming Society, Kawlkulh; Farming Co-operative Society, Ruantlang; Dingdihlipa Sih Zau, Chawngtlai; Zopuite, Champhai.</span><br />''  <br />
