The Centre has said that the mixed payment mode for wages of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, MGNREGS will continue till the 31st of this month through Aadhaar-Based Payment System- ABPS as well as the National Automated Clearing House- NACH. <br />'' <br />'' The Ministry of Rural Development in a statement said that the government is committed to ensure wage payment to every beneficiary of the scheme. The Ministry said, if a beneficiary is linked with ABPS then payment can be made through ABPS only. In case, the beneficiary is not linked with ABPS due to some technical reasons then Program Officer can select NACH as the mode of payment of wages. <br />'' <br />'' The number of active workers under MGNREGS is 14.96 crore out of which the Aadhaar seeding of 14.27 crore workers has been done. Over ten crore workers have been registered under the ABPS. The ABPS was introduced for timely payment of wages which ensures no delay in payments due to bank account-related problems. The system also ensures transparency towards the payment of the workers.<br />
