The key domestic indices ended 0.14 percent up amid mixed cues from the global share markets. The BSE Sensex rose 92 points, or 0.14 percent, to close at 66,023. The NSE Nifty gained 28 points, or 0.14 percent, to settle at 19,812.
In the broader market at the BSE, the Mid-cap index rose by 0.33 percent while the Small-cap index fell by 0.63 percent.
In the Sensex Index, which is a pack of 30 companies, shares of 18 companies appreciated while 12 companies declined. NTPC climbed one and half a percent, Infosys rose 1.3 percent and Power Grid added 1.2 percent.
On the other hand, IndusInd Bank fell 2.1 percent, Kotak Bank declined 1.2 percent and Mahindra & Mahindra and JSW Steel, both fell one percent.
In sectoral indices at the BSE, 12 sectors gained and eight declined. The power sector gained 1.4 percent and the Auto index rose 0.6 percent. Healthcare, Information Technology and Tech sectors have gained half a percent.
On the other side, Realty fell 0.8 percent, Metal, Telecommunication and Commodities declined 0.6 percent and Bankex lost around half a percent.
The overall Market breadth was negative, as shares of 1,622 companies appreciated while those of 2,067 companies declined. A total of 141 companies remain unchanged.
