US West Asia envoy, George Mitchel has failed to get Palestinian agreement to engage in direct talks with Israel. The State Department spokesman, P.J. Crowley said, Mitchell had serious and positive talks with Palestinian President Mehmood Abbas in the West Bank town of Romallah yesterday. But, he said, he left without agreement, referring to difficulties and obstacles the two sides are facing. The Obama Administration is pushing for direct Palestinian talks from early next month.
