Mission Indradhanush increases routine immunization among children: Nadda

Health Minister J P Nadda today said, the Mission Indradhanush has led to increasing the routine immunization among children by 5 to 7 per cent. Speaking at the Meeting of Mission Streeing Group of National Health Mission in New Delhi, Mr Nadda said, earlier the immunization activities were increasing at a pace of one per cent. The Indradhanush Programme aims at covering all those children by 2020 who are either unvaccinated, or are partially vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases. <br/><br/>The disease include diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, polio, tuberculosis, measles and hepatitis B. Mr Nadda also said, the government is also introducing four new including Inactivated Polio Vaccine, Rotavirus vaccine, Measles, Rubella (MR) vaccine, and Adult Japanese Encephalitis vaccine. Health Minister said, the government has also launched Kayakalp programme for Hospitals to maintain cleanliness and hygiene at wards and premises.<br/><br/> Speaking on the occasion, Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu said, the National Health Mission should focus more on the issues like cleanliness and hygiene in hospitals. He also suggested integration of Central and Health schemes for better implementation.
