Australian police say they believe the body of a young boy found in Melbourne's north matches belongs to a three-year-old Indian boy who went missing. Gurshan was visiting from India with his parents when he disappeared from a relative's home in nearby Lalor about 1:00 pm local time while his mother was in the shower. It is believed the boy, who does not speak English, may have wandered out the front door.

A council worker discovered the body of a boy at Oaklands Junction this evening. The boy was found about 30 kilometres from where Gurshan had disappeared six hours earlier.

Deputy Commissioner Jones says while police are investigating a number of areas there are no suspects at this stage. But he has assured India that police will do everything possible to find those responsible.
