Missing Iranian academic Amiri traced

Iranian state TV claims that Iranian academic Shahram Amiri, who was missing since last year, has been surfaced to Iran's interest section in Pakistani Embassy in Washington. <br/><br/>IRIB television reported today that Amiri took refuge in Iran's interest section in Washington, urging an immediate return to Iran. In June, videos purportedly of Mr Amiri emerged but containing contradictory information on his whereabouts. <br/><br/>Iran blames that US security forces kidnapped Amiri while he was on a pilgrimage in Saudi Arabia in June 2009. The US rejected Tehran's claims that it was behind Mr Amiri's disappearance.<br/><br/>Iranian media say Mr Amiri worked as a researcher at a university in Tehran, but some reports say he worked for the country's atomic energy organisation.
