Missing Indians are probably in Badush jail in Iraq, says Sushma Swaraj

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Ministers of State for External Affairs M J Akbar and V K Singh today met families of 39 Indians who are missing in Iraq since 2014. Speaking on the missing persons, Ms Swaraj said, sources in Iraq told Mr V K Singh that the missing Indians are most probably in a jail in Badush where fighting is still going on. The meeting came days after Mr Singh went to Iraq to get information on the missing Indians. Ms Swaraj said, the day Iraqi Prime Minister declared Mosul liberated from ISIS, she asked Mr Singh to go to Erbil. The persons were believed to have been abducted by Islamic State militants in June, 2014.
