Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde today stressed on putting in place an early warning system in all districts and constantly engage all communities, particularly in disturbance prone areas. Addressing Directors General and Inspectors General of Police conference in New Delhi, Mr Shinde said, the government favours freedom of speech and expression but mischievous use of social media to foment trouble, needs to be checked.
The Home Minister asked security forces of the country to ensure the safety and security of the people, particularly the weakest among them, including senior citizens, women, minorities and the SCs and STs. Mr Shinde also asked for creating a roadmap for sensitive, well trained and effective police infrastructure which is capable of dealing with the diverse security related issues.
