Moderate Hurriyat Conference chairman Mirwaiz Moulvi Umar Farooq was placed under house arrest in Nigeen, Srinagar, early this morning to prevent him from participating in a seminar to pay tributes to Imam Hussain, grandson of Prophet Muhammad.<br/><br/>The seminar was scheduled to be held at the Hyderpora residence of hardline Hurriyat chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani, who remained under house arrest from June 2016.<br/><br/>However, there was no restriction on Separatist leader Mohammad Yasin Malik.<br/><br/>
