‘MINK running full houses in Mumbai; Gujarat multiplexes also screen the movie

Despite the call of protest by the Shiv Sena, the Bollywood blockbuster 'My Name is Khan' ran to full houses in INOX and FUN cinemas in Mumbai today.State Home Minister R.R.Patil also attended the film show in INOX multiplex. Only Mumbai, Nagpur and Aurangabad screened 'My Name is Khan' in Maharashtra today. The film was appreciated by viewers.Meanwhile, Shiv Sena activists continued to demonstrate against the screening of the film. They tried to close down the shops in Dadar and in another incident they attacked the Mercerize Benz showroom in Andheri. Adequate security arrangements have been made to prevent any untoward incidents.In Gujarat, the owners of the big multiplexes have started the screening of Hindi movie- My Name is Khan- starring film star Shahrukh Khan.Earlier, the release of the film was deffered and the morning shows of the film were canceled after the VHP and Bajrang Dal activists had tore the posters of the film in Ahmedabad and Rajkot. The police have already arrested dozens of VHP and Bajrang Dal activists after the protest against the screening of film.AIR Ahmedabad Correspondent reports that the decision of screening the film in Big-Cinemas, Fun Cinemas, R World, Wide Angle and some other Cinema houses has been taken after its peaceful release in some Multiplexes of Mumbai despite the threat of Shiv Sena. The BJP today condemned the violent incidents occured in Mumbai during the screeing of Shahrukh Khan starrer movie My Name is Khan.Briefing reporters in New Delhi, party spokesperson, Mr Ravi Shankar Prasad said everybody has right to freedom of expression and there is no place for violence in democracy.Mr Prasad blamed Congress for messing the situation as the party in power could not handle it effectively.
