The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has announced cash awards worth 22.57 crore rupees to 286 spokespersons who won medals in the 19th Commonwealth Games in New Delhi .The awardees also include players who won honors in 16th Asia games at Guangzhou, China. According to an official release, Gold medalists will be given 20 lakh rupees , silver medallists of 10 lakh and bronze medallists of 6 lakh rupees. Medal winners in team events have been given award money not less 50% of individual award money. Cash awards worth 5.10 crore rupees have already been given to spokespersons who won gold medals for the country in 16th Asian Games.
