<span style="color: #222222;">The Ministry of Home Affairs today suspended a senior IAS officer Jitendra Narain of AGMUT – 1990 Cadre with immediate effect. (The AGMUT comprises, Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories cadre officers)The Ministry received a report yesterday from Andaman and Nicobar Police regarding the alleged sexual assault of a lady by Mr. Narain, the then Chief Secretary, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and others.<br />''<br />''As the report indicated the possibility of grave misconduct and misuse of official position on the part of Mr. Narain, the Home Minister Amit Shah directed to take immediate strict action against the officer concerned as per law. Accordingly, Mr. Narain has been placed under suspension with immediate effect and disciplinary proceedings have been ordered against him.</span><br />
