Ministry of environment clears 24 projects in M'rashtra in last 20 months

Ministry of environment has cleared 24 projects in Maharashtra in last 20 months. This was disclosed by Union Minister of State for Environment Prakash JaVadekar today evening at a Press Conference in Pune. Important projects cleared by Ministry Of Environment includes Proposed Memorial of Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in Arabian Sea Near Mumbai, 11 coal mines of western coal field in Nagpur,Chandrapur and Yavatmal Districts,Coastal Road from Nariman Point to Dahisar in Mumbai, Belora Airport in Amaravati, Irigation Projects in Jalgaon, Usmanabad and Solapur Districts, Cleaning of Mula and Mutha revers in Pune and reducing area of reserved forest for Great Indian Bastard ( MALDHOK) in Solapur District. Mr Jawadekar said that while giving clearance to these projects we have taken due care that development will be achieved and environment will also be protected. He also informed that fund of 40 thousand crores meant for social forestry was lying in the Bank. He announced that it will be used for afforestation.
