Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation today honoured rural sanitation champions from all across the country in New Delhi. <br/>Speaking on the occasion Drinking Water and Sanitation Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh said, the rural sanitation champions are agents of change in the society. <br/><br/>He said, Government is committed to driving a pan-India mass movement towards improved sanitation and it is possible only through collaborative efforts of people. <br/><br/>The Minister said, changing age old attitudes towards open defecation is critical in attaining the goal of Swachh Bharat.<br/><br/>He said, people of India have set inspiring examples of not only preaching but practicising Mahatma Gandhi's principles of cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene. On the occasion, Mr Singh launched a Coffee Table book on innovative stories on Swachh Bharat. The sanitation champions also shared their experiences with the invitee and media.<br/><br/>
